Slieve Donard Hotel – The Percy French

Named after the man who wrote the famous song “Where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea” which perfectly describes the backdrop, this enduringly popular spot is a true Taste of Ulster. At the helm in the kitchen is Executive Head Chef Kyle McEwan.

There, they focus on serving pub classics, regional dishes, bar snacks and traditional Sunday roasts with a strong emphasis on local produce and in-season ingredients. Lisdergan and Carnbrooke supply the meat while the seafood and shellfish come from Ewings and Keenan’s. The vegetables are from North Down Group. Draynes Farm supply dairy products. They also use Hendersons and Lynas Food Services.

Try their beer-battered fish and chips or their rotisserie chicken served with crispy chips and salad. A wide-ranging wine list sits alongside a great selection of draught and bottled beers, spirits and carefully crafted cocktails.
