Parliament Buildings, Stormont Estate
The Members’ Dining Room at Government Buildings is in an iconic setting overlooking the Stormont Estate. The demand for the best local produce served with a modern twist was so strong that opened for lunch to the public from Monday to Friday.
The menus change with the seasons but you might have a starter of cold-smoked duck, pickled cucumber, pomegranate and balsamic essence or warm chicken with honey, caraway, beetroot and grapefruit salad.
The main courses won’t disappoint either. There could be slow-cooked lamb with celeriac, sweet potato gratin, minted peas and sprouting broccoli or perhaps grilled pork medallions with a side of chipotle and scallion mash and topped with green apple relish. Tempting vegetarian options include a spelt barley and squash risotto with cumin-roasted cauliflower or a spring vegetable fettuccine. The place is licensed so you can enjoy a chilled glass of Prosecco or a local craft beer with your meal.
Save room for a sweet like dark chocolate and hazelnut praline tart with orange cream or rhubarb panna cotta with vanilla shortbread. Then walk it in the Estate grounds or take a free tour of Parliament Buildings.
