City Sips
You know how brunch dishes, toasties and traybakes always hit the spot? Thank goodness then for City Sips in Newry where they do just those.
A light bite could be a porridge bowl with lots of topper options or pancakes with streaky bacon, maple syrup and a fried egg.
The breakfast bagel is loaded with bacon, smashed avocado, sriracha cream cheese, pickled red onion poached egg and rocket. Also very popular is the recently added chicken popper toastie- the pop comes from the jalapeno peppers. Don’t you just love the sound of a Brisket Sourdough Benedict? So do we.
As with all Taste of Ulster members, local suppliers are key. The sourdough is from Proof Artisan. Hendersons and Lynas supply the beef, lamb and pork. The vegetables are from Country Fresh and the dairy produce comes from Draynes Farm. For snacks, they have protein balls from Loadaballs.
You would expect the coffee to be good. You would be right. They use the Ozone house blend.
So many reasons to go.
