Bodega Bagels
The supermarket bagels just weren’t hitting the spot for Steven and Kirsty Orr, so
they took matters into their own hands.
After a lockdown filled with research, baking, tasting and discussions with some of
the most famous bagel connoisseurs in the US, Bodega Bagels brought authentic,
New York style bagels to Belfast!
They use traditional techniques to hand-roll, boil and bake their bagels to perfection
– crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Their everything topping and their
cream cheeses (schmears) are also created in-house so they always strike the right
balance of flavours.
Armstrong Meats, Keenan Seafood, Bethany’s on Belfast’s Cregagh Road and
Musgrave are some of their local suppliers.
They have a standard weekly menu (they know you’ll keep coming back for the
originals), but they like to play with flavours and seasonal ingredients too so keep an
eye on the specials board. Hot or toasted with cold fillings, it’s up to you.
Find them in Belfast city centre at 127-131 Royal Avenue, Belfast BT1 1FG and also
in the Banana Block – Portview Trade Centre, 310 Newtownards Rd, Belfast BT4
1HE and at HALT Weavers Cross. You can also order from Deliveroo, Just Eat or
Uber Eats.
