Established in 2020 after 3 years of cancer treatment Lynette McHendry set out on a
mission to heal herself and help others in the process. Learning about the benefits
of bone broth for gut issues Lynette had been making this in her kitchen for family
and friends when someone suggested she start her own business selling bone broth.
Not one to turn down a challenge, Lynette worked with a local food technology
college with the help of an Invest NI Innovation Voucher and developed her first
licensed product.
Roll on to 2025 Lynette has grown the business located in Ledcom Industrial Estate,
Larne and sells B2B and B2C in NI, ROI and GB and has increased her product
range to include a variety of flavours all with natural ingredients and their own health
benefits therefore the products are sold primarily as a food supplement. Sourcing
bones from a local meat processing plant and using local fruit and veg retailers and
wholesalers the business is keen to support local.
A recent collaboration with Big Pot Co. in Cookstown will see Spear & Arrow Bone
Broth being added in the production of a new bone broth soup. Big Pot Co are
passionate about crafting food that embodies real, simple, goodness. Their new
Bone Broth Vegetable Soup elevates their classic Vegetable Broth by enriching it
with Spear and Arrow’s nourishing bone broth. This addition not only enhances the
soup’s flavour but also provides a natural source of collagen, making it high in
protein and fibre. Available from major retailers across NI and ROI from September.

Lynette has recently secured a second Innovation Voucher from Invest NI and has a
new product being developed which will hopefully hit the shelves early 2026. Lynette
has a small team however a big passion to have Spear & Arrow grow and helping
more people on that journey
