Northern Ireland’s finest producers have been honoured at this year’s Ulster Bank supported Northern Ireland Food and Drink Awards. Winners in nine categories were commended for excellence in new products, training, supplier chain, best restaurant, food programmes and contribution to the industry and received their prestigious awards at Belfast’s Ramada Plaza Hotel on Friday 25th March.
The Ulster Bank Best New Product (large company) Award went to Dungannon based beef and lamb processors, Linden Foods for their ‘Rosemary & Garlic Leg of Lamb’. This same award, but for a small company, went to Glastry Farm Ice Cream for their tasty and innovative Kilbeggan Whiskey Ice-Cream.
Moira based company, Hannan Meats also celebrated on the night after picking up DARD Supply Chain Excellence in Farming Award. Their award commended the company for a full range of products including Glenarm Estates Organic Shorthorn Beef & Lamb, Fresh & Smoked Glenarm Organic Salmon & Joseph & Stephen O’Neill Free Range Rare Breed Pigs.

At the awards ceremony the NI Good Food Is In Our Nature People’s Award was also announced as voted by YOU! Massive congratulations to Suki Tea who on the night picked up this award for their fantastic organic earl blue flower tea! Well Done!
The 2011 Taste of Ulster Restaurant Of The Year Award, also based on a public vote, was presented to Lisburn based steakhouse and urban grill Del Toro. Congratulations on this great achievement!
