Food NI Companies Shortlisted In UK Manufacturing Excellence Awards

 Three Food NI member companies have been shortlisted in the coveted Food Manufacture Excellence Awards 2020.

Listed in what is the UK’s most important awards for food manufacturing are: Mash Direct, Comber; Finnebrogue Artisan, Downpatrick; and Moy Park, Craigavon.

Mash Direct, the successful family-owned specialist in vegetable accompaniments and convenience meals, and Moy Park are previous winners in the awards.

The annual Food Manufacture Excellence Awards celebrate achievement within the UK’s fast-growing food and drink industry.

They reward all elements of food and drink manufacturing, including environmental initiatives, business acumen, business change management, supply chain innovation, young talent and teamwork.

Every entry went through a stringent judging process involving hours of discussion and debate by a team of expert judges. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner on 13 February in London.

Mash Direct was shortlisted in the Chilled, Fresh & Dairy Manufacturing Company of the Year, while Moy Park and Finnebrogue Artisan (Lynn’s Country Foods) in Meat, Poultry & Seafood Manufacturing Company of the Year.

In addition, Dungannon-headquartered Dunbia, the market leader in beef and lamb processing was in the Training Award and Best Site Team categories.

The UK’s food and drink manufacturing market is renowned for its innovative approach to food development, high-tech manufacturing and high-quality raw materials.

The Food Manufacture Excellence Awards provide a platform to celebrate and recognise this hard work and the boundaries pushed forwards in the past 12 months.

The awards have been running for 19 years and have established a coveted mark of quality and excellence.
