River to Lough Festival is now in its third year, and is a hugely popular, award winning event, showcasing the unique cultural heritage of Lough Neagh & Its Waterways, celebrating the ancient fishing tradition associated with the area.

River to Lough Festival has gained a reputation as one of Northern Irelands most unique Food Festivals. The festival which celebrates the world renowned Lough Neagh Eel, will take place in the majestic Antrim Castle Gardens 2nd July 2016 from noon – 5pm.

This year’s festival programme will include cookery demonstrations in the Food Theatre, cookery lessons in the Cookery School, there will be an Eel Heritage Exhibition with fishermen story-telling, line demonstrations, heritage boats and lots of activities and entertainment through-out the day for the family. Gather around the tee-pee campfire or join the mini ‘grow your own’ sessions with the kids and take a tour of the community garden at Antrim Castle Gardens. If that makes you hungry then you might be tempted by our pop- up restaurant serving a traditional eel supper or by one of our local restaurant street kitchens, we also have a food and craft market. This really is the ultimate Food Festival!
