The Loaves and the Fishes event, is celebrating Seafood Week and the Year of Food and Drink 2016. The event is being held in Ballywalter park, the ancestral home of Lord and Lady Dunleath in co. Down. With help from Ards and North Down Borough Council, Seafish and Lord and Lady Dunleath Loaves and Fishes aim to encourage the public to consume more local seafood and traditional breads. The event aims to promote the consumption of lesser known species of seafood and will run a programme of masterclasses in local seafood cuisine and traditional bread making delivered by chefs of international repute.
In addition to the cookery demonstrations there will be tasting and the opportunity to purchase local food products from 20 artisan producers. The recipes that are being demonstrated will be available for the public and will be distributed.
