Consumers in Britain set to Enjoy Crispy Onions from Limavady Leader

Milgro, Northern Ireland’s largest commercial grower and producer of onion
products, is this week celebrating a major milestone with the announcement of a
supply agreement that will see its multi-award-winning Crispy Onions stocked on the
shelves of more than 300 Tesco stores across Great Britain.

The Limavady-based, family-run company is adding to its already established supply
base in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, which now includes
Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Henderson Group, Aldi, Eurospar, Spar, Mace, Londis
and XL stores, as well as a large number of independent butchers.

In addition to supplying its range of Crispy Onions, Milgro, a FoodNI member, has
also expanded its product portfolio with Tesco Northern Ireland stores, where it now
supplies a range of whole onions in various pack-size formats.

Speaking about the news, Gerald Miller, managing director at Milgro Onions, says:
“We are delighted to increase our level of business with Tesco, and it is a further
endorsement of Northern Ireland suppliers being recognised as trusted partners by
leading retail groups across the UK and Ireland.

“We pride ourselves on supplying the best quality products possible and look forward
to building our relationship with Tesco in the coming months,’ He adds.
It is most definitely a case of onwards and upwards for Milgro!

Owned and managed by the Miller family on their farm, the enterprising company
produces award-winning Crispy Onions prepared and produced in the dedicated and
BRC AA accredited facilities on the farm, situated at Myroe, in the heart of
Limavady’s picturesque Roe Valley.

Versatile and tasty, the onions add another dimension to meals. Available in distinct
flavours including Original flavour, Flame Grilled Steak flavour and a hot little
Chinese Salted Chilli flavour for that extra kick.

Innovation is at the heart of Milgro’s development of original products which have
won both Irish Quality Food and Drinks Awards, UK Great Taste Awards and Blas na
hEireann Irish National Food Awards.
