Hannan Meats Takes Golden Fork 2026
We are so, so proud of veteran Food NI member and Great Taste titan, Peter
Hannan AKA The Meat Merchant who has done it again at the 2026 Great Taste
Awards winning the Golden Fork for Northern Ireland for their Buttermilk Cure Bacon
Rack.
The announcement was made at a ceremony at Battersea Arts Centre in London on
Tuesday 15th September, 2026.
The 3-star winning product was in the running alongside their Buttermilk Bone-In
Pork Chop. Also nominated was Coppa from The Curly Pigs.
The Supreme Champion Award went to Embutidos Entrepenas for Wagyu Beef
Ham.
Hannan Meats is one of the most successful companies in the history of the Guild of
Fine Foods’ Great Taste Awards. Previously, they won the Supreme Champion
Awards for Guanciale (2012) and Glenarm Shorthorn 4 Rib Roast (2017). They also
won Golden Forks in 2024 for their Chilli and Herb Crusted Porchetta and in 2013 for
their Salt-Aged Rack of Glenarm Shorthorn Beef.
Heartiest congratulations from all at Food NI.
