With Gorgeous gifts, good food galore, magical music and fun-filled festive activities for all the family – Portadown’s Christmas Speciality Fayre is the perfect place for all the family this festive season!

The two day event which takes place on Friday 14th and Saturday 15th December has been organised by Craigavon Borough Council as part of the Portadown Revitalisation Initiative funded by the Department for Social Development.

With an array of exquisite crafts and gourmet delights from over 25 traders and talented craftspeople including Curry Sauce NI, Milky Moo, V & A Cupcakes, 7th Heaven, Shamar Giftware, Inspire & Desire, Cirillo Chocolate, Tivole Gemstone Jewellery, Hot Dogs NI, Blue Thimble Crafts, the Pastry Works, Eleanor Craigs Fudge, Pig on a Spit, Bella Jo Relishes, Big Pot Co and Dawson Jones Honey there’s something for everyone.

The Fayre will kick off on the Friday (14th December) at 10am and will have a whole host of entertainment to keep you and your little ones entertained, including wonderful music from Martello Jazz Band playing from 11am-1pm, Barry Tipping (Six Miles North) 2pm-4pm and the South Ulster community Band rounding up things from 6pm-8pm.  In addition your little ones can soak up the Christmas atmosphere with many festive characters coming to life including – Jack Frost Jugglers, Elvin the elf, the magnificent Snow Queen on Stilts and the very merry Mistle Toes!

On Saturday 15th December from 10am-5pm, the Fayre will showcase Portadown’s Scottish Dancers at 10am, the delightful Downshire Brass Band from 11am-1pm and the great G Force Roadshow from 2pm-4pm plus visits from Prunella the Pink Pixie, Sid Delicious, a festive Christmas Pixie and the magical Snow Queen.

In addition, the NI Good Food Signature Kitchen will be present and cooking up a treat with Chef Jenny Turley using ingredients from the Millennium Court Farmers Market and the Speciality Fayre to rustle up some festive goodies!

The grand finale at the event will be the live draw of the “15 days of Christmas competition” being run in conjunction with the Meadows Shopping Centre, High Street Mall, Magowan West and Asda.  One lucky family will win a once in a lifetime holiday to Euro Disney, Paris with a further fourteen lucky winners receiving their £100 gift voucher for one of the partner venues.

Member of Craigavon Borough Council’s Development Committee, Councillor Gemma Mckenna comments “There will be a diverse range of festive gifts available to buy at the Fayre for all your family and friends – or maybe a Christmas treat for yourself! Products include jewellery and bags, handmade crafts, food and lots more – it’s an event not to be missed!”

The Millennium Court Farmers Market in William Street will also be open for business on both days from 8am to 5pm and Portadown town centre will also be open for late night shopping on Friday 14th December for all savvy shoppers on the look out for creative, quirky and ever popular gifts.
