The last six months have been a whirlwind of ‘Food Festivities’ with Breakfast Week, IFEX and theBalmoral Show! However, the next 6 months are even more packed with exciting food events in Northern Ireland.

You are now looking at our brand new website which is a complete celebration of everything food related in Northern Ireland! Not only does it link the producers of our food to the restaurants that serve it, but it also gives you great recipe ideas that you can try out for yourself! The ‘Kids page’ helps our young ones to learn all about how to grow their own delicious and healthy vegetables and there are also regular competitions to win all sorts of food treats.

As Taste of Ulster celebrates it’s 20th Birthday this year, a brand new Restaurant Guide will be launched soon. This is a must have guide for everyone in Northern Ireland, residents and visitors and details the best restaurants in the land, who all use local products in their menus. You can pick up a free guide in your local Tourist Information Office.

August sees the Belfast Taste and Music Fest in Botanic Gardens! This event will bring Northern Ireland’s best assets together to create a week of total celebration. Let’s face it – there is nowhere else in the world that has such an impressive music and food culture – let’s be proud of it!

The autumn will then be filled with in-store cookery demonstrations of top quality local food and drink. Watch out for us in your local supermarkets, come have a taste and take some home to try for yourself!

For the hospitality sector, Food NI will be at Hospitality Exchange in October with Taste of Ulster chefs and workshops. This is an excellent networking opportunity for all those in the hospitality sector in Northern Ireland.

Last but not least, Food NI will be creating a local Festive Food Feast near Christmas in the City Centre. Watch this space to find out more!

All these exciting events lined up, as well as taking the Food Trailer to locations all around Northern Ireland makes a great 2010 for the food industry and food lovers alike!
