The Year of Food and Drink NI was held in 2016, when all across the Borough, people participated in and
celebrated the rich diversity and high quality of our local food off ering. From farmers and growers to food
producers and quality restaurants, Ards and North Down showed it truly is a “Foodie” heaven.

In appreciation of this vital industry to the Borough, we would like to invite all businesses to join us for the AND Food Conference and Showcase. We will be joined by a number of leading experts in the local and national food sector who will talk about the key trends and future opportunities in the marketplace. There will also be a showcasing of an array of local artisan food producers.

We are delighted to be joined by leading food brand visionary James Averdieck, Founder and former MD of Gü Chocolate Puds, and co-founder / CEO of The Coconut Collaborative.

By creating one of the fastest growing food brands in the UK, and revolutionising the quality of ready-made desserts, James is an entrepreneur in the truest sense of the word. Local tycoon, Bill Wolsey, MD of Beannchor, one of the largest independent operators of bars, pubs, restaurants and nightclubs in Ireland will also share his business insights. Other speakers include Michele Shirlow, Chief
Executive of Food NI, Alison Austin, OBE, and Lynn Gilmore, Seafish NI.
