Northern Ireland will enjoy the benefits of a local breakfast at a special event organised by the Ulster Farmers Union and NI-Good Food is in our Nature as part of HGCA’s Farmhouse Breakfast Week 2010 (24-30 January).

They will not be alone as throughout the week, people across the country will be attending hundreds of breakfast events. From schools to restaurants, cafes to farmers’ markets, the nation will be celebrating the most important meal of the day.

HGCA’s Consultant Dietitian, Jane Griffin said:  “The starting point for any healthy diet is a balanced breakfast and the nutrients gained give you a head start by benefiting mood, weight, concentration and energy levels. Breakfast is quick and easy to prepare and with such a wealth of breakfast foods available on your own doorstep, you won’t have to look far to find a healthy choice that’s right for you.”
