Don’t miss the Festival of Food at the Dalriada Festival on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th July 2012, it will be held on the grounds of the historic Glenarm Castle in the Glenarm Estate.  The Dalriada Festival combines the shared cultural heritage of Northern Ireland and Scotland through a celebration of shared Sports, Music and Fine Food.

The Festival of Food will be held in the Fine Food Courtyard of the Glenarm Estate, a historic stone courtyard surrounded by old farm outhouses, it will be host to Channel 4’s Fabulous Baker Brothers, BBC Radio Ulster’s Resident Chef Paula McIntyre and an array of high quality local food producers sampling their delicious produce from Ice cream to salmon.

On Friday 13th July the Famous Fabulous Baker Brothers will give cookery demonstrations using locally sourced food at 11am, 1pm, 3pm and 5pm, if you are a keen baker or butcher this is not to be missed!

On Saturday 14th July Paula McIntyre will be serving you delectable traditional fayre at 1.30pm, 3.30pm and 4.30pm using locally sourced food with her ever entertaining demonstrations! If you enjoy cooking delicious traditional food this is a must stop for you!

If the cookery demonstrations and food samples have left you hungry for more you can enjoy quality local food in the catering zone nearby.  Here you can buy locally sourced and produced food, from Northern Irish Beef burgers to Hog Roast.

The Fine Food Court also offers a Food Adventure, if you are aged between 7 and 10 why not challenge your senses to see how well you know your food.  Can you identify food just by seeing or feeling or smelling or tasting it?  You can also hear how different foods make different sounds when you eat them.  Get your Food Adventure passport stamped as you pass through the zones of taste, smell, touch, sight and sound.
