Comber Farmers’ Market Continues to Grow

Five more traders will be joining Comber Farmers’ Market on Thursday 6 November bringing the number of artisan food stalls at the monthly  market to twenty five. Tom and Olly will be selling a wide variety of cheeses; The Old Post Office from Lisbane will be bringing along a selection of their amazing traybakes, meringues and cakes; Sticky Toffee Puddings (including a gluten free range); Harnett’s Oils; and NearyNogs, an artisan chocolate maker has prepared a limited edition especially for the market which includes Pecan Pie Chocolate Truffle and a Pumpkin Nut Butter Fudge.

Alderman Deborah Girvan, one of the market organisers, said, “Since it started in July 2014, Comber Farmers’ Market has gone from strength to strength. Every week I am contacted by someone who wants to take a stall at the market as they have heard that it is one of the best markets around. Unfortunately we can’t take everybody who wants a stand as we need to maintain the individuality, quality and variety of the artisan food products. We are delighted to welcome the new traders to the market and would like to thank the good people of Comber and beyond who are continuing to support the market and make it such a success.”

Cookery demonstrations will also be taking place at Comber Farmers’ Market on Thursday 6 November 2014. First up at 9.30am will be David Smith from McBride’s on the Square. He will be followed at 10.30am by Aimee Beimers from Keen Nutrition who will be making almond satay sauce. Colin McCreedy of La Mon Hotel will be cooking at 11.30am and at 12.30pm, Kelan McMichael from the Poacher’s Pocket in Lisbane will be demonstrating a selection of Christmas Treats.
