Lime Tree

Do you ever wonder how some places get their names? Well, this place has Antipodean links. William Massey was born in Limavady and became Prime Minister of New Zealand from 1912-1925. To commemorate his inauguration, he had lime trees planted in Limavady, hence the name of this multi-award-winning restaurant.

Stanley, in the kitchen and Maria , Front of House  opened up this relaxed, informal restaurant in June 1996.  Together they have won numerous accolades over the years both for the food and  service winning  the Tourism Northern Ireland Restaurant / Taste of Northern Ireland award twice; the only restaurant to have achieved this.

They use seasonal, local produce to create dishes with a  healthy Mediterranean twist. The restaurant boasts a modern menu approach, offering a good, balanced selection of fish , meat & vegetarian dishes catering for all budgets .You can view  current menus on their website www.limetreerest.com. They might have Atlantic Scallops on the menu or Cod with a Chickpea Crust. Whatever is on, you can rest assured of an amazing meal
