Take Away the safefood way!

Pictured at the launch of safefood’s first ever all Ireland Cookery Competition, ‘Take Away My Way’ are James Hannon and Laura Cunningham from Methodist College, Belfast.

Pupils are being challenged to create a healthy version of their favourite take away meal and submit a picture of it ahead of the closing deadline of 31st March 2011.The competition is open to all key stage 3 and 4 pupils in Northern Ireland and is inviting students to display their culinary capabilities, while promoting the importance of healthy eating.

With the support of celebrity chef Neven Maguire, a panel of experts will judge the all Ireland finalist entries on their creativity and nutritional value at St Angela’s College, Sligo – campaign organisers of the ‘Take Away My Way’ competition. With the chance to win some great prizes including a games consoles, gift vouchers and goody bags, students should get cooking!
