Local Businesswoman Suzanne Livingstone, from Baked in Belfast, was delighted to meet BBC Dragon Theo Paphitis when he presented her with a certificate for winning his Small Business Sunday competition.
Suzanne travelled to Edgbaston Stadium outside Birmingham for the event along with Clare Rimmer from Lisburns Kip McGrath Educational, where they met the Dragon, listened to him chat about his business experience, took part in a question & answer session and met some Dragons Den entrepreneurs before being presented with their certificates & having their photos taken with the star.
Suzanne was delighted that Theo remembered her winning product, Gin & Tonic Marmalade and the Dragon was very happy with the jar he received to enjoy with his breakfast. Having previously said he didn’t want gifts, his comment was ‘I’ll be having that’ when shown the winning Marmalade.
The Small Business Competition runs every Sunday night on Twitter and Suzanne’s winning tweet was ‘We make Gin & Tonic Marmalade and ship worldwide’. The confidence boost from winning the competition helped Baked in Belfast to get their products stocked everywhere from Belfast to New York, taking in Londons Selfridges & Titanic Belfast along the way.
