Irwin’s rises to the occasion at marketing awards

Portadown based Irwin’s Bakery has been presented with a Marketing Excellence Award from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) at an event in Belfast’s City Hall.
The leading local bakery topped the overall food and drink industry category at the CIM Marketing Excellence Awards, which recognise the very best achievements in marketing across a variety of sectors.
Irwin’s was applauded by judges for its integrated and creative approach to marketing across a number of disciplines including public relations, digital communications, advertising, sales promotion, packaging and design.

Michael Murphy, Commercial Director for Irwin’s Bakery commented, “Marketing has always played a pivotal role in our business strategy in order to maintain and build our well-known local brand as well as grow market share.  As we approach our 100th year it is more important than ever that we continue to invest heavily into driving the Irwin’s brand forward for generations to come.
“We have a strong presence now across Ireland and Great Britain and we fully recognise the importance of marketing at every level in order to enhance that. That ranges from working with our retail partners to ensure our products meet the demand of their consumers, right through to communicating to the wider public about new products we are launching into the market.

“We’re proud to have picked up this award, not least as Irwin’s were being judged against competition from across the very broad and thriving Northern Ireland food sector.”

The company received the CIM award on the same night as it picked up a Highly Commended accreditation at the Farming Life Awards in the Agri-Food Business of the Year category.
