Local dairy producer Dale Farm is celebrating its most successful award season ever – picking up no less than 29 major accolades for its Dromona Cheese and butter range. Including international awards from renowned industry shows such as Nantwich, the Great Taste Awards and Frome – this impressive haul has further elevated the Northern Ireland company’s status as a world class dairy producer.
Sweeping the board at this month’s Frome Cheese Show in Somerset, Dale Farm was awarded 14 gold, silver and bronze medals – impressing judges including cheese connoisseurs and senior buyers from major supermarkets, outlets and industry bodies.
David Dobbin, Dale Farm’s Chief Executive commented, “Our products remain top quality thanks to the some 2,000 local dairy farmers who supply us with fresh milk. Gaining widespread industry recognition is therefore a big win for the Northern Ireland dairy sector and the high quality standards they adhere to.”
“Over the last few years we have invested heavily in our cheese making facilities as well as research and development into the Dromona Cheese brand, expanding our capabilities and expertise in this added value market. This year’s award season has proved our strategy is delivering. Not only have we increased our cheese making capacity to over 50,000 tonnes per annum, we have delivered a range of products which stand up against the best in the world. These achievements come down to a high level of skill and expertise and top quality ingredients, of which Dale Farm as a business, and our farmer members, can be extremely proud.”
Dale Farm’s parent company United Dairy Farmers will host its AGM next month, where it is expected to announce a strong set of annual results.
