The Dairy Council for Northern Ireland has today launched the latest stage of its ‘Milk in Action’ campaign with the announcement of an exciting park tour set to take place throughout Belfast.
Developed in partnership with RampRage – Northern Ireland’s number one professional and extreme sports demo team, the ‘Milk it for All its worth’ tour aims to encourage younger age groups to drink milk and highlight the nutritional benefits in sport through a series of workshops and demonstrations in six local parks across the city.
From BMXing, skate boarding, break dancing and hip hop, each event will host a range of exciting demonstrations delivered by the RampRage team along with a series of workshops, allowing young people to join in on the fun, learn news skills and understand the nutritional benefits of drinking milk.
Dr. Mike Johnston, Chief Executive of the Dairy Council for Northern Ireland, said: “The launch of this new partnership marks the second phase of our ‘Milk in Action’ campaign to further educate younger age groups about the importance of being active and demonstrating that exercise can be fun.
“Everyone who comes along will receive free milk and nutritional information on its importance not to mention other fun and quirky merchandise from our milk pods."
“With the help of RampRage we want to show young people that there are many different types of sporting activities that can provide excitement - as well as educate young people that milk is now increasingly recognised as an effective natural sports drink providing hydration as well as essential nutrients that can help with an active lifestyle.”
Captain Matt G from RampRage said;
“The RampRage Crew are geared up and can’t wait to get on the road with this exciting Summer Fun Days Tour. Since we teamed up with the Dairy Council for Northern Ireland, the crew has learned lots about the nutritional content and benefits of drinking the white stuff....and with BMX, Skate, Parkour and street dance demonstrations and workshops on the menu for the seven stop tour; we will need plenty of energy to keep us in top form.”

• Tuesday 24th July, Tommy Patton Park, East Belfast
