August bank Monday saw thousands of wine lovers flock to St George’s Market, to the first ever Belfast Wine Festival hosted by Saturday Kitchen star, Olly Smith.
Dozens of stalls were on display from wine producers and importers as well as a host of international cuisine. Food NI and Taste of Ulster were on-hand to host live cookery demonstrations throughout the day using the freshest locally sourced produce cooked by a series of Northern Ireland’s best-loved chefs.
Popping the cork at 11am, visitors immersed themselves in the wine-producing countries of the world with the atmospheric market being divided into all of the major wine producing countries in the Old and New World.
World renowned wine expert Olly Smith wooed the crowds divulging his best kept wine secrets.

There was a series of educational and interactive workshops throughout the day which covered all wines – light and fruity whites, full bodied reds, refreshing rose and exciting sparkling wines – they were all available to taste and learn about.
